Life is a Journey
Last summer, my family and I went to the Crescent Lake(Yueyaquan), 6 km south of the city Dunhuang in Gansu Province.
I woke up at 4:00am to climb the desert mountain to watch the sunrise. The mountain is about 3,800 km high. I took my shoes off so that I could climb faster. The sand was soft but cold. Fortunately, there were not many people, so it was very tranquil.
After the tiring 40-minute climb, I reached the top successfully. Just as I reached the top, the sun was coming out. I looked up at the sky, lost in this wonderful scenery. The white clouds were tinged golden yellow by sunlight, the pink part giving the sky some mystery and sweetness.
The cold wind brushed my cheek, nevertheless, I still felt warm and relaxed. All that sunshine, all that peace, all that grace, all that wind made my heart feel like it was floating in the air. I was standing in the desert and the magic around me reminded me of a peaceful and pleasant oasis.
Finally the sunlight broke through the clouds. It was dazzling but it never blinded me. I did know this was for me, for all the human beings on the earth, and for all creatures in space How blessed and grateful I was to see this enchanting scenery!
Just like the lyrics of Ryan’s Song “Climb to the top, look over the ledge, dance barefoot on the razor’s edge.” Life’s a journey, just get on the road and enjoy it!
